The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and former vice president, Atiku Abubakar has assembled and inaugurated his legal team to challenge the result of the just concluded presidential election.
Atiku earlier in his press conference openly rejects the outcome of the presidential election and seeks to challenge the result at the election tribunal. The reason for his rejection according to his spokesperson, Paul Ibe, the election was marred by irregularities, disenfranchisement of voters from Atikus’ strongholds, and the outright rigging from northern states.
However, the international observers differ by affirming that the election was peaceful and there were no known widespread rigging. There are several videos on the internet that refute this claims and INEC confirmed some of its adhoc staffs were raped, some were kidnapped and others were threatened to change election results.
Nigerian community in diaspora are in support of Atiku rejecting the outcome of the election and heading to the tribunal instead of extending hands to congratulate president Buhari.
